While not every client who has the Speech Easy device requires the use of fluency skills some do benefit from using a device and skills together. In our individual or group sessions, clients who have SpeechEasy devices are encouraged to bring in their devices for practise and further training while using fluency skills.
Clients who have opted to integrate the two approaches have unanimously found this to extremely helpful to their fluency maintenance program. They report that wearing the Speech Easy device allows them to more easily access fluency skills and feel more confident while speaking. Clients practise with the device and other fluency strategies while engaging in a variety of speaking situations including: presentations, conversations with volunteers and strangers, making phone calls, ordering food, practising mock job interviews or conducting opinion surveys about stuttering.
